2015 KARSHAKASREE AWARD PROGRAM

Malayalee Association of Rockland County (MARC) is inviting applications for the 2015 Karshakasree Award. The Karshakasree Award is given to the best performing Vegetable Gardener in Rockland County. There will be three prizes. The winners will be awarded with plaque and cash prizes. The first prize winner will be awarded with MARC Karshakasree ever rolling trophy. The contestant must be a member of the Malayalee Association of Rockland County.

Applicants who wish to apply for the Karshakasree Award is required to have their own vegetable garden in Rockland County. The winner will be determined by a judging panel based on the following criteria: (a) Area of Garden (b) Variety of vegetables grown (c) Quality and quantity of crops (d) preparation & attractive layout of the garden.

This form should be properly completed & sent along with a minimum of two garden pictures to the address below no later than August 25, 2015. Immediately after receiving the photographs, the MARC Karshakasree Award officials will visit your garden for final decisions.

SPORTS& GAMES

Our Sports & Games Activities are an ongoing indoor activity. It is a great opportunity for those who are interested in playing Volleyball, Badminton, Basketball, etc. This year we have three indoor gym facilities: every Wednesday evening at the James Farley Elementary School and every Friday(8.00-10.00 PM) and Sunday(5.00-7.00 PM) at the Clarkstown South High School . This is a well organized and attended program. All MARC members are welcome. Come and Enjoy.

GOLDEN CLUB

The Golden Club program was inaugurated on April 15, 2011 with the goal to address the needs of our older Malayalee community. There are a lot of Malayalees attending this well organized recreational programs every Friday from 6.00 -10.00 P.M. The programs includes, community education, Card Games, Tennis, Chess, discussion and briefing on medical, insurance and social benefits for the older generations. Come and Enjoy - Admission is free.
